After considerable deliberation, OBF Board has made the decision to discontinue the print version of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar beginning with the 2025 issue. OBF will endeavor to continue promotion of Ohio bicycling events via this website.
As we work out a new online publishing process, the support information published below will be updated. Please bear with us as we move the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar into a future that does not include print.
Calendar Resources and Support for Event Coordinators, Planners, Promoters
Pictures Wanted! Do you have excellent photographs from an Ohio bicycling event? We would love to see them to consider for possible use in the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar. Electronic formats or links to images can be sent to the email address available below. Be sure to include the event’s name and the name of the photographer and submit photos only with the permission of the photographer. Photographer credit or source will be given but, since we have no budget, unfortunately no payment offered. Pictures must depict cycling in Ohio. Cyclists must be wearing helmets if riding and practicing safe cycling if on the road. Make ’em fun, exciting, interesting, beautiful but please, no “crowd shots” of folks milling about, no pictures of food lines.
LISTING YOUR EVENT WITH THE OBEC
YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A QUESTIONNAIRE FORM THIS YEAR
We have not yet developed an online submission process allowing direct entry of event information, so much of the process will be familiar with a few important changes:
Submission by Email Only! The OBEC’s Medina, Ohio Post Office Box is closed, paper forms will not be accepted. Do not send entries to any other OBF address whether email or USPS.
Free Listings. Not being in print means much reduced cost to OBF – reduced but not zero cost! There’s no minimum donation to have your event listed with description text included. Donations of any size will help OBF offset our costs.
No Deadline for Entries. Because we do not have to have the entire content of the Calendar ready for final printing, we can add events at any time during the season. Of course, the earlier an event is listed the greater the potential exposure.
Use and return of our Event Questionnaire is no longer required. The form is designed, however, to help ensure events provide all of the essential information needed for a complete listing. We encourage use of the form and its return to us as a PDF via email but complete information in the text of an email will be accepted. CLICK HERE FOR THE FILLABLE FORM
We need your email address! Since OBEC’s P.O. Box is closed, instead of Postal Service mail, we will use email for future communication with event hosts and clubs. This is for “official use only” and not publication. Please send the email address (not website or form on website) to: obec.editor @ gmail.com
Donations Gratefully Accepted! You can help OBF offset the costs of online publication by making a donation tagged for the Calendar. If you wish to make a donation you can do that online at the following OBF webpage — please enter EVENTS CALENDAR in the Comments field if you use the online route.
