As editor I am pleased to report that we have shipped out the last of our supply of 2023 Ohio Bicycle Event Calendar! We annually endeavor to produce enough copies of the Calendar to satisfy the demand without having substantial surplus to discard to recycling. It doesn’t always work out that way, as conditions and interest change, but this year we seem to be on target.
We’re not yet planning the 2024 edition but remember, we are always looking for photos taken of Ohio’s cycling events and we even pay a modest amount for the use of the photos we select. See our Support page for details.

Since 1986 I have served as editor of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar. As then-chair of the Ohio Bicycle Federation (OBF), I took on the position immediately following the untimely death of David Fortier. The first edition of the Calendar was issued in 1984 via the offices of the Miami Valley Regional Bicycle Council (MVRBC) and consisted of a single printed 8 1/2 X 11 double-sided, sheet listing the year's events. While the MVRBC provided essential assistance in launching the Calendar, it was Fortier who envisioned a glossy publication distributed statewide. The calendar, he also believed, would assist event promoters in avoiding scheduling conflicts, and attracting riders. The Calendar has changed format over the years and is increasingly accessed via the World Wide Web but remains true to its original mission. -- James Guilford
