We received the listing for this year’s Major Taylor Cycling Club of Dayton Signature Ride too late for the print edition but added it to the Web edition today. The July 8 event (with free pre- and post-tour rides) is a Supporting Ride of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar.…

We’re off to a flying start collecting information for the 2023 edition of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar. This will be the 40th annual issue. To gather the information we need, in November we mail questionnaire forms to the previous year’s ride contacts and to bicycle clubs, in case they’re starting something new. To secure means of circulation, we contact bicycle shops and clubs in January offering free copies of our publication…
This is going to be a sad season for cycling events. We are regularly receiving notice from event hosts canceling their 2020 rides with dates as far out as August. COVID-19 is an easily-spread and serious disease and it is only prudent, if disappointing, for some events to be called off. The virus is now “out there” and there is no prevention available but to limit interpersonal contacts. Cycling events, within the…
With the mailing of our event listing package to Ohio’s bicycle club and 2018 cycling event contacts, we have begun the process of creating the 2019 edition of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar. The packages were mailed on November 24 to the contact addresses we were given for 2018’s events. Promoters of new, not-listed events, those who provided no mailing address, or those who wish to get a head start will find…
As usual, we are beginning our annual Calendar project with a post-Thanksgiving mailing to bicycle clubs and ride hosts. Completed Event Listing Questionnaires provide us with the information we need to assemble the annual listings of events for late-February to early March publication. We expect the Questionnaire packages to be mailed next Friday so, club officers and ride hosts, be on the lookout for that all-important envelope! We also hope to see…

Before the end of this month we will mail copies of our Events Questionnaire package to the contact addresses. The event entry form and other materials for ride promoters may also be found on this website. Click Here for Event Support. Do you have excellent photographs from an Ohio cycling event, something that…
The Event Questionnaires for the 2017 edition of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar were mailed today! Event contacts and bicycle club officials should begin receiving our mailing on Friday, November 25. The packages were mailed to every event listed in our 2016 edition (provided we have a mailing address), and to every Ohio bicycle club for which we have a mailing address. Our questionnaire is the primary means by which we acquire…
It’s always something… Unfortunately, due to a simple clerical error, the display advertisement offered by our friends at the Cleveland Touring Club (CTC) did not appear in the print version of this year’s Calendar. Their Sunday in June event is listed in the Calendar but the display ad is missing. The ad does appear in the Web version (see Touring Events above) and here’s what it looks like: Over many years, CTC has…
Here are a couple of answers to FAQs (whether actually asked or not) regarding the 2016 edition of the Ohio Bicycle Events Calendar: When will the Calendar be published? The Calendar normally is published in late February or the first week of March. Timing is heavily dependent upon submissions reaching us promptly and then, the printer’s schedule. Our group is planning a new cycling event for this year; how do I get…
It’s still pretty early in the 2015 cycling season but we have already entered several corrections and additions on our online Calendar! So, as we progress into the summer months and you use the printed Calendar to scope out the rides, don’t forget to check for updates. Visit the Touring or Racing sections on this website (see links at the top of this page) and check for additions, changes, and corrections… stay…
